It's time for Winter Field Day 2027!

Country Amateur Radio Club, W3XO, will operate from our shack inside the Riverstar

Arts & Events Park, 4000 Riverside Drive, Kerrville, TX 78028.

Winter Field Day is an annual amateur radio event designed to help operators develop and practice the skills needed to establish reliable communications under challenging conditions. Amateur radio operators throughout North America and beyond will make contacts on multiple bands and modes while developing practical emergency-communications and field-operating skills.

W3XO will participate for the entire Winter Field Day operating period, beginning at 1600 UTC (10:00 a.m. CST) Saturday, January 23, and continuing through 2159 UTC (3:59 p.m. CST) Sunday, January 24. That gives our club nearly 30 continuous hours of operation.

Winter Field Day is more than a traditional contest. The event encourages operators to accomplish a variety of objectives that test station capabilities, operating skills, alternative power sources, multiple bands and modes, and overall communications preparedness.

Whether you are an experienced operator or new to amateur radio, this is a great opportunity to operate with fellow club members, sharpen your skills, make contacts, and see amateur radio in action. Come join W3XO for Winter Field Day 2027!
